UNI. An Izakaya in Boston.

An izakaya is a type of informal Japanese gastropub and UNI, located in The Eliot Hotel in Boston, MA, is just that. It's a restaurant where the dishes are impeccably plated and Biggie playing over the sound system. Where you get a spoonful of uni, caviar, and quail egg and it blows your mind.

Blue Inn On The Beach on Plum Island, MA

Blue Inn On The Beach is an idyllic inn on Plum Island which is an equally idyllic beach town about an hour north of Boston. I was invited to a weekend event at Blue with the team at Lark Hotels (Blue's parent company) and Yankee Magazine. The weekend was full of smart women, food, photography and wine. But first I want to share what an incredible hotel Blue is. Especially the Lark Suite.

My Top 10 Favorite Boston Restaurants

I have a hard time writing about my home city. I'm not sure why. Part of it might be is that there is SO much that I have yet to see an do. Maybe that will be part of my 2017 - exploring my Boston more. But if I had to make an excuse it's because when I find something I tend to go back again and again. And I can only eat so much. While Boston has evolved into one of the most educated and innovative cities in the union, you can still relive some of her incredible history just by going for a walk.

Craigie On Main is a well known French-inspired restaurant in Cambridge, MA, and chef-owner Tony Maws has won numerous awards in Boston for his beautiful cuisine. As you can imagine, I jumped at the chance to try his inventive menu.

Aquitaine: A Little Paris in Boston

Funny thing about me is I'm obsessed with Paris. Like unreasonably obsessed. I think it all began when I started taking French classes in High School. The language just clicked for me and it was probably the first I felt good at something. After that first language class, I became obsessed with the Parisian style, culture and the overall je ne sais quoi.

Brunch at Mamaleh’s

A couple weeks ago, I found my new favorite breakfast spot. Mamaleh's.Mamaleh's, which is a Yiddish term of endearment for a young child, is a Jewish delicatessen in Cambridge, MA. Opening just this summer, their menu ranges from matzah ball soup, to smoked fish to smoked meats. As a brunch lover, I knew that was the perfect meal to test drive this new food spot.

Pier 6 Dinner

This Labor Day I decided a little staycation was in order. I never get to play tourist at home so I was pretty excited to wander around my favorite Boston sights. (You can read more about my staycation here.) Of course, first things first for any vacation - I had to plan my meals. Where was I going to eat? What places have been on my To Eat list? What was I craving? Easy.
