I cannot effing believe it’s August. I make plenty of jokes about time, but seriously, WHAT IS TIME?!
Anyway, it was so great to be in Portland this weekend. I hadn’t been home in over a month, and I needed some time to relax, catch up with my fam, drink some wine, and go to bed at 8 pm. (Such a treat when I’m home.) I’ve been traveling every weekend, so it felt amazing to slow down for a bit. I drove up super early on Friday, so I had an extra-long weekend. I had to work on Friday, so I was V ready for wine o’clock when it rolled around. Saturday, my mom and I played tennis, then went over to Terlingua to pick up some brisket for dinner, Duckfat for a duck confit poutine lunch, and Grippy Tannins for some vino to drink with our poutine. (You can bring outside food into Grippy, which is the best!) This morning was pretty easy. Walk on the beach, bagels and lox, and some breakfast bubbles.
This week's top five.
1.
I love this post over on Cup of Jo about the making of a magazine cover.
2.
I’m obsessed with these garden rose melamine plates from The Avenue. They are perfect for a picnic or any backyard dining.
3.
I started Outer Banks season two, and no surprise, I’m hooked. I already know it’s going to live up to season one.
4.
With summer winding down, I figured I would share my Summer 2021 playlist. It’s full of Leon Bridges, Dermot Kennedy, Lorde, and James Vincent McMorrow. Great warm weather vibes.
5.
Last but not least, if you’re an anti-masker or anti-vaxxer (I understand if it’s for medical reasons), I disagree with you. It’s not about you; it’s about doing the best we can to protect everyone else. ✌🏼
