A Dog-Friendly Staycation at The Colonnade

I’m excited to share a little gem in the heart of Boston that Brian (my sweet fiance), Lacy (our adorable dog), and I visited for our staycation – The Colonnade. This place isn’t just a hotel; it’s a haven for dog lovers like us, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

When we arrived, the first thing that struck us was how incredibly welcoming the staff was. They didn’t just check us in; they made us feel like old friends coming for a visit, especially Lacy! Their love for dogs was so genuine. It almost felt like Lacy was the guest of honor.

Our room? Oh, it was a dream! A spacious two-room suite with a king-size bed perfectly accommodated the three of us – yes, Lacy included. The hotel had thoughtfully set up a delightful charcuterie and wine for us, and Lacy wasn’t left out either. She got her own bed and bowls, making her a very happy pup.

What really set The Colonnade apart was its thoughtful touches for dog owners. In the lobby, an iPad charmingly displayed photos of the canine guests, including our Lacy. The hotel also handed us a handy list of nearby dog-friendly parks, perfect for Lacy’s morning and evening adventures.

Food-wise, we were in heaven. On our first night, we indulged in room service – amazing burgers and some of the best chocolate chip cookies. For lunch the next day, I met a friend at Kava Neo Taverna, a cozy spot for a wine-filled catch-up. And let’s not forget Grill 23 for a fantastic steak dinner nearby. Our coffee fix? Blue Bottle Coffee on Newbury Street had us covered with their iced matcha.

What I packed...

Before we checked out, we treated ourselves to a luxurious brunch at Lucie in The Colonnade. Crab cake benedict, steak and eggs, and a shared waffle – the perfect end to our staycation.

We loved how we could step out and explore the best of Boston. Strolling through the Boston Garden and wandering around the South End was so much fun, especially with Lacy in tow.

The Colonnade team was fantastic, blending professionalism with genuine care. They made sure our stay was comfortable and joyful, even though we missed out on the rooftop pool, which is a summer highlight.

The Colonnade wasn’t just a hotel for us; it was an experience – warm, friendly, and perfectly accommodating for our furry family member. If you’re planning a staycation in Boston and don’t want to leave your dog behind, The Colonnade is the place to be.

Just a little tip before I sign off: don’t hesitate to ask for anything. The Colonnade staff truly go out of their way to make your stay special, especially for your four-legged friends!

A million thank yous to The Colonnade for generously hosting me! If you’re interested in staying at The Colonnade, visit their website at All opinions and images are my own.
