Where to stay: The Eliot Hotel in Boston, MA
The Eliot Hotel in Boston’s Back Bay was home to my recent staycation. There’s something so great about staying in new surroundings in your hometown. For me, it reignites the mystery and adventure and it makes me want to re-explore familiar neighborhoods.
For a foodie like me, The Eliot is one of the best hotel choices in the city. With UNI next door, and countless restaurants, cafes, and bistros steps from the hotel, The Eliot will help you eat your way through the city.
The Rosewood Mayakoba
When my friend said she wanted to go to the Rosewood Mayakoba for her 40th birthday, I didn’t even hesitate. This property has been on my hotel bucket list for a long while, and I was so excited I was going to check it off my list.
Upon arrival, our driver handed me a marg, which note to all other hotels, bring margs to all airport pick-ups. This really set the tone for the stay. After check-in, the hotel delivered us to our room via boat. This was just so special and took my excitement to a whole new level. Once we arrived at our room, my jaw hit the floor. First, each room has its own private pool, which I knew, but I needed to see it in person to make it real for me. The room itself is design goals. We had a sitting area, a king bed, and an indoor and outdoor shower in the bathroom. No detail was overlooked.
The beachfront pool was my favorite place outside of the room. Service was impeccable. Drinks kept coming, and the ice buckets with water and Evian spray were never empty.
Other amenities included bikes for every room, a spa, workout center, tennis, golf, multiple pools and restaurants, and a shopping area for souvenirs.
If you’re looking for a girls’ trip, a family vacation, or a romantic getaway, the Rosewood Mayakoba has something for everyone.
Where to stay: Whitehall in Camden, Maine
Nestled on the mid-coast of Maine, Camden exudes every charm of a small town in New England. Or so I heard. Up until last weekend, I had never visited Camden, but with peak foliage happening right now, I had to change that. So I booked a room at Whitehall, Lark Hotels’ Camden outpost, and jumped in the car.
