Life House Nantucket, a hidden gem, is more than just a place to rest your head. It’s an enchanting escape that transports you to a tropical paradise, right in the heart of this quaint New England island.

From the outside, Life House blends seamlessly with the shingle-clad houses of Nantucket. But step inside, and you’re in a coastal cottage that’s a world apart. Palm trees, eclectic curios, and rattan furniture at every corner give you the feeling of being whisked away to a remote tropical haven.

The magic of Life House lies in its ability to maintain a consistent aesthetic across all rooms while embracing the quirks of a building that’s been standing for nearly two centuries. We had the pleasure of experiencing the Inn Keeper’s room and the Cozy Queen. While the former was a tad snug for two, it was still comfortable. The latter, with its separate bathroom, felt just like being at a friend’s place – warm and inviting.

Life House’s attention to detail extends to its outdoor spaces. Two patios, each with its unique vibe, are perfect for lounging. One features a fire pit and ample space for larger gatherings, while the other, more intimate, is adorned with egg chairs, ideal for curling up with a book or catching up on work.

The daily breakfast and happy hour cocktails are delightful additions that make your stay even more special. And the patios? They’re the perfect spots to kickstart your day or unwind in the evening.

Just a short 10-minute stroll from town, Life House truly offers a comprehensive travel experience. While it’s particularly suited for families with older children, girls’ trips, and romantic getaways, the Life House team ensures everyone feels welcome. Despite the island’s post-pandemic boom leading to staff shortages across hotels, restaurants, and shops, the service at Life House remains impeccable. They go above and beyond to make you feel special, and it’s an experience I can’t wait to relive!
