Admittedly this post is a bit of a shift in my normal content, but clean beauty and transparent brands are such a big part of my life that it felt weird to not talk about it.
Shockingly enough, beauty in the US hasn’t been regulated in 80 years. That’s right 8-0. So since 1938, corporations have been able to sneak in toxic chemicals and a whole bunch of other shit into our makeup, skincare, and sunscreen. Luckily brands like Follain and Credo Beauty are making it easier to find clean beauty products and to educate ourselves on how to make better choices.
I encourage you to explore what clean beauty swaps you can start making in your routine. Here are a few of my favorites right now.

The first thing I do in the morning is splash cold water on my face. I don’t really wash my face in the morning because I haven’t done anything to it except sleep. Plus, my face is dry in the winter so the natural oils help me stay moisturized.
Next, I use a toner. I have a few in my rotation: 1) Allies of Skin Molecular Saviour Probiotics Mist, 2) Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner, and 3) Biologique Recherche Lotion P50. (Ok, P50 isn’t clean, but I use it at night when I want to exfoliate. And it’s amazing.)
After toner, I apply my serums. In the morning, I use Marie Veronique Vitamin C, E + Ferulic Acid Serum all over my face and Kahina Prickly Pear Seed roller ball on my eyes. If I’m feeling extra dry, I’ll apply Kahina Argan Oil in addition to my Allies of Skin Molecular Multi‐nutrient Day Cream. The last thing I apply in the morning is Coola Full Spectrum 360 Sun Silk Drops SPF 30. These sun drops are great because you can mix them into your cream or your foundation. (Ignore the duct tape on the cap. Clearly, these sun drops have been on a few adventures with me.)
At night, I’ll apply Marie Veronique Gentle Retinol Night Serum, Kahina roller ball around my eyes, and the Kahina Argan Oil.

I’m still working through cleaning up my makeup so a lot of the brands I’m currently using aren’t considered clean. What I have started using – and loving – is RMS beauty. I’m using their “Un” Cover-Up, a lightweight concealer, in shade 11, and their Living (silver-toned) and Magic (gold-toned) Luminizer, a cream highlighter. I carry both with me every time I leave the house – that’s how much I love it.
As for other clean products, I’m trying a natural deodorant from Ursa Major and a great leave-in conditioner from Evolvh that adds volume and conditioning.

Those are my current faves, but I’ve included a few of my other clean beauty love below. Like the Herban Essentials Towelettes – perfect to clean off your seat and tray table on the airplane.
