New York City is one of my true loves. Every time I visit I’m inspired and I when I leave I’m excited to create. This past trip was no different. Though I left with a bit of a travel bug that’s left me little time to write (like this blog post, for example).
My home, while I was in town, was The Chatwal in Midtown. The Luxury Collection‘s New York City art deco style hotel is the PERFECT respite while you’re exploring the city. (It doesn’t hurt that they have a house car that will drive you anywhere in a 20-block radius that makes exploring particularly easy.)

Upon entering The Chatwal, you immediately travel back to the 1960s. The Mad Men era-esque lobby is wonderfully sleek and modern. Every time I step foot in the lobby, I want to head to the bar and order a martini.

Tucked in the back corner is an inconspicuous door that leads to The Lamb’s Club, The Chatwal’s sexy and moody restaurant. Decked in red leather, The Lamb’s Club is the perfect spot for breakfast while you’re staying at The Chatwal, or even for a pre-show meal before you head to see the latest Broadway smash.

My room at The Chatwal was the definition of LUXE. From a mirrored bathroom to a to-die-for king size bed to leather covered walls, my room had all the amenities you want in a luxury hotel. Even a heated toilet seat, which no lie, came in really handy during the arctic freeze that set in while I was visiting.
So when I’m not admiring the lobby or hanging by the bar, I’m pretty happy to curl up in my room and never leave.

On one particularly chilly, but not freezing, day, we thought it would be fun to bundle up, light the fire pits and make smores. (Pssst – The Chatwal has a few rooms with incredible terraces so when you plan your stay, I highly recommend these rooms.)
No surprise, the smores were amazing. What I didn’t expect was the amazing view as well.
Around the same time that we were outside on the terrace, the 2019 Women’s March was happening right in front of the Chatwal. So we ate our smores and went to check out the march for a bit.

This weekend in NYC was one of my favorites, thanks in part to The Chatwal. When you’re home away from home is this wonderful and welcoming, it’s easy to just relax and enjoy your time exploring.

A million thank yous to The Luxury Collection, and The Chatwal in New York City for generously hosting me! If you’re interested in staying at The Chatwal, visit their website at www.thechatwalny.com or the-luxury-collection.marriott.com. All opinions and images are my own.
