My Atlanta, Georgia Stopover: a short city guide

  /
December 26, 2018

I had a short stopover in Atlanta during my Southern Tour with the Feed Feed and the Luxury Collection. I had no idea how large Atlanta is but I managed to cover a lot of territory during my visit to the ATL. Here are my favorite spots from my visit.

Where to eat

Recess at Krog Street Market

Innman Park, $$
3306-C N Davidson St
recessatl.com or krogstreetmarket.com

One of the many awesome dining options at Krog Street Market. Recess was just what I needed – a healthy lunch option that kept me fueled the whole days… or at least until dinner.

Ponce City Market

Old Fourth Ward, $-$$$
675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE

Unlike Krog, it’s not easy to choose a favorite. From quick bites to long lunches, Ponce has you covered. And it’s must visit when you’re in Atlanta.

King & Duke

Buckhead Village, $$$
3060 Peachtree Rd NW
kinganddukeatl.com.com

A literary themed restaurant with a huge wood burning oven. I recommend the burger or the chicken.

Where to drink

Skyline Park at Ponce City Market

Old Fourth Ward, $-$$$

Worth the entrance fee, Skyline Park is a sight to behold. The name doesn’t steer you wrong, grab a drink at Nine Mile Station, sit by the firepits and watch the sunset over the city.

Trade Root at The Whitley

Buckhead, $-$$
3434 Peachtree Rd NE

I stayed at The Whitley while I was in Atlanta, so it was very convenient to grab a drink at Trade Root. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by Trade Root. Their cocktails are delicious and their lounge is super cozy.

What to do

Tour the Fox Theatre

$$
foxtheatre.org

If there isn’t a concert or performance at the Fox while you’re in town, definitely stop by for a tour. This is the theater where Gone with the Wind premiered, and it’s GORGEOUS. It’s very Arabian nights meets King Tut’s tomb.

Ponce City Market

Old Fourth Ward, $-$$$
675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE
poncecitymarket.com

Oh hey, it’s Ponce City Market again. Not only is it a great place to eat, there’s also a ton of shopping options… and a theme park on the roof. (Casual.) There’s something for everyone.

Shop at Krog Street Market

Innman Park, $$
3306-C N Davidson St
krogstreetmarket.com

A few of my favorite shops are at Krog Street Market. Definitely check out Merchant. I could easily spend the day looking at all of their merchandise.

Walk the BeltLine

beltline.org

The BeltLine is a beautiful park and walking trail. Formally a railroad track around Atlanta, now it’s the perfect way to get to know part of the city.
